Industrial Engineering Overview
Industrial engineers bridge the gap between design engineering and business by combining technical, business and communication skills to design and improve products and processes. IEs develop mathematical models, identify and analyze data using statistical methods, and develop and evaluate alternate strategies for determining the most productive ways to utilize people, materials, machines, money, space and energy. UCF’s program provides job preparation through hands-on experiences with industry clients. Internships and jobs are plentiful with UCF’s proximity to Central Florida Research Park and Florida’s high-tech corridor. UCF also offers a Lean Six Sigma “Green Belt” certification, and an accelerated five-year bachelor’s/master’s degree.
